Railway Hotel voted the best pub in Halifax for second year running
The Railway Hotel has been crowned as the Halifax Courier Pub of the Year 2013
After being pipped at the post by the Murgatroyd Arms last year, the Railway has gone one better this time to win the competition.
The Railway beat the Shibden Mill Inn into second place, while the Silk Mill in Sowerby Bridge came third.
Horizon Salik, who has co-owned the pub for the last seven years, said:
It’s absolutely fantastic news, we’re so pleased to have won.
It’s undergone a full refurbishment since we came on board so a lot of hard work and effort has been put into the business behind the scenes.
We believe we have a fantastic environment with great rooms.
Obviously our customers think it’s the place to be!
We offer a wide variety of entertainment and a good atmosphere with music on Fridays and Saturdays.
We have a good mix of clientèle and hopefully winning this will help us continue to grow the business and attract even more customers.
There’s an awful lot happening at this end of town with the work being done to Square Chapel and the Piece Hall so hopefully we’ll see a benefit from that too.
